Hey - my name is Genevieve Tawiah, Gen for short. I am a Performance Physiotherapist based in London.
I am open to bookings across the UK subject to my availability and work schedule, and also available for video call consultations for convenience for those based further afield.
(Furthest I've had so far is Thailand - feel free to try and beat it - If I can make the time difference work I absolutely will)
I'm here to lend a helping hand (or elbow).
My goal is to provide you with the tools you need to optimise your wellbeing; learn more about your body and make a safe and efficient recovery from injury - back to the activities you love where possible.
I'm originally from the Midlands - Derby, but moved up to Manchester to study physiotherapy back in 2012.
I qualified with my physiotherapy degree in 2015 after a variety of specialist physiotherapy placements and an internship working in Ghana with a premier league football team.
Manchester was home to my first physiotherapist role working at North Manchester General Hospital - in their MSK Outpatients department, before transferring to Royal Oldham Hospital to work on the Orthopaedics ward.
Work took me from Manchester to London;
In 2016 I followed a dream job offer working in a clinic on Harley Street,
in conjunction with providing physiotherapy for west end shows -
(Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and more)
and supporting students training at Italia Conti Academy.
I then left London and found freelance work for 'Bat out of Hell' the Musical in Manchester; whilst managing a private caseload of clients predominantly involved in road traffic accidents requiring physiotherapy support via insurance claims in the Midlands.
I like variety - so continued to mix things up by taking on a Band 6 Orthopaedics role in Derby Royal Hospital, whilst supporting a series of events with Badminton England.
I then went on to tour the UK with 'War Horse' as the company physiotherapist 17/19.
I just couldn't stay away.
So I swung back to London following work on tour to return to my clinic role, and took on a role in injury prevention and physiotherapy support on Harry Potter in London's Westend.
I have been fortunate enough to provide physiotherapy services on:
Strictly Come Dancing, The Drifters Girl Musical, Walk with Amal
and have teamed up with performers in
The Royal Shakespeare Company, Dino World Live, Netflix Uk, Matilda the Musical, Heathers, Magic Mike Live and much more
- in conjunction with vocal physiotherapy support for professional singers on tour
and clinic work at Complete Physio/ Pilates and various pop up clinic locations
and various mobile appointments.
Keeping that variety in.
