How it works

Assessment

A discussion to attain a thorough history of your injury complaint, your bodily awareness, history of medical input and more  - to put together a clear picture

Treatment

Treatment methods will largely depend on the issue you attend with. Plans for treatment will be discussed and agreed before commencing to ensure you understand the aims of your physio session and the expected outcomes.

Treatment Planning

If you have set a goal, or need to be back in action by a certain date - we can work as a team to map out the likelihood of you reaching your goal, and liase with any other individuals in your care to ensure all are aware.

Injury risk reduction advice

Physio doesn't have to be reactive - you don't have to wait until you are already injured/ stressed or concerned about your physical wellbeing. Be proactive.

By studying the nature of your activity; ensuring an initial assessment to review any existing weaknesses, and reviewing your upcoming work load, there is a lot that can be done in the way of preventing injury.

Sharing information so individuals learn more about the body they live in is really important to me - so I'm always open to opportunities to teach and lead workshops and classes.

If you have a topic that you are keen to learn more about, or if you want to introduce the role of physiotherapy to a group you work with - feel free to pop me a request email and we can discuss the needs of your team further and note if a workshop would be beneficial for you.

Referrals

Sometimes it's more than physiotherapy you need. And as a physiotherapist I make sure to acknowledge my boundaries.

I consequently have a brilliant network of specialist consultants in different fields I often refer out to: consultants of varying specialisms, radiologists, vocal coaches, speech and language therapists, ear nose and throat specialists and more.

I also take care to liase with other physiotherapists where required, GP's and other medical professionals that may be involved in your care.
